Hongju Lee Clan Jongin descended from Hwi Giljong of Daehogun. This is the story behind how Daehogun left Hanyang and Hongju and descended to Seongsanseongsan in Namwon, now Bongseo-ri, Sanseo-myeon, Jangsu-gun.

In 1308, when King Chungnyeol, the 25th king of Goryeo, abdicated the throne, he resigned from the post of eunuch Yeongyeonggungjehak, and came down to the village of Suran, Hongdong, Hongyang, Hongju.Hongseong, and had three sons with Neungseong Gu.

Jeongbun (鄭苯, 1394-1454) was King Sejong in the early Joseon Dynasty. Moon Jong. He was a civil servant during the reign of King Danjong, one of the three ministers, and the minister of Gomyeong of King Munjong. He was born Jayu (子㕀), his pen name was Aildang (愛日堂), his posthumous name was Chungjang (忠莊), and his main office was Jinju (晉州). His grandfather was Spirit Middle (鄭臣重). His father was the only son of Zheng Io (鄭以吾), the governor of Panzhongchu, and his wife was the daughter of Jeong Heung-in of the Hadong Jeong clan and the older sister of Jeong In-ji, widowed (死別) before 1452, and there were no sons between them. Jeongjeong(池淨) is a saengjil(甥姪), and Jeongjisan is a servant quality and a volunteer hand.
Jeongbun (鄭苯) was not interested in political skills or power greed (貪慾), and was a civil engineer, which is rare for tattoos. He demonstrated outstanding management skills in architecture. He was sent from Chungju to Nagan in the face of the Gyeyujeong Rebellion (癸酉靖難) while performing his duties as a provincial governor of the 3rd province, and was sentenced to prison the following year. Since he was a Chungjang with great fidelity, he was enshrined in Yodang Confucian Academy in Gongju and included in Jangneung (Danjong) Baesikrok as Woouijeong Chungjanggong Jeongbun (右議政忠莊公 鄭苯). The 13-year-old Daehogun Lee Gil-jong was living well in Hongseong, and on October 10, 1453, the year of Gyeyu (Yun), Grand Prince Suyang caused a political crisis and killed Yeonguijeong Hwang Bo-in, left Uijeong Kim Jong-seo, etc. Woo Ui-jeong, who became the maternal-in-law of Prince Jung-bun, had to be killed as well, but he was able to avoid being killed on the night of October 10 because he had been on a patrol in Hasam-do, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang-do, but was immediately arrested and sent to Nagan near Suncheon, Jeolla-do. He was killed in 1454 while he was placed in exile.
When her brother-in-law, Jeong In-ga, and the family of Lee Gil-jong, Daeho-gun, were accused of treason overnight and the family was ruined, the brothers and sisters of Woo Ui-jeong and Jeong-bun were also caught in a guilt-by-association system at the same time, and the moment of desperate crisis to avoid the terrible disaster was the eldest son of Hong-ju Lee Clan's eldest son. Daehogun rushed towards Lee Gil-jong.
Daehogun Lee Gil-jong had no choice but to flee Hongju-Hongseong, the home of his life, in order to save his mother, Jinju Jeong, from the anger of Gyeyu Jeong-nan.
The place where Jinju Jeong’s mother and eldest son, Daehogun Lee Gil-jong went to avoid disaster was Seongsan Mountain in Namwon.
Why did he escape to Namwon?
It was because Daehogun's aunt had married there and was living in Seongsan, Namwon. The aunt is the daughter of 11-year-old Jeongdanggong Lee Shin-yu, Mr. Hong Joo-i, the 12-year-old aunt's husband, and his aunt is Jinju-so, Lee Yeon-so-yeon, an administrator.
Mungangong Yi-seo gave So-yeon the rhyme of a poem around the year 1400 when she was 9 years old, and So-yeon was smart enough to compose a poem on the spot. welcomed
His nephew, Daehogun Lee Gil-jong, was able to come to his aunt's place. Due to this relationship, Daehogun Lee Gil-jong accompanied his mother of Jinju Jeong from Hongseong-Hanyang to Seongsan, Namwon on a cold winter day in 1453.
□ Hoam Confucian Academy
It is a seowon that enshrines the ancestral tablets of six prefectures, including Shim Gu-ryeong, Anseong, Lee So-yeon, Sosan-bok, and Lee Dang, with Lee Seo, who served as Yeonguijeong during the reign of King Taejong of the Joseon Dynasty, as the principal. It was built in 1789 (Jeongjo 13).

▶ Mr. Hong Joo Yi, Lee Seo
Songgang's first name is Yangbaek (陽伯), his pen name is Dangong (戇翁), his family name is Hongju (洪州), his posthumous pen name is Wengan (文簡), and his pen name is Prince Anpyeong (安平君). He passed the civil service exam in 1357 (6th year of King Gongmin) and was appointed to the post of Jwarang in the military department after going through various government posts.
Later, in 1392 (Taejo 1), he participated in the promotion of Lee Seong-gye and was ranked third in the founding of Joseon, was sealed in Anpyeong-gun, and was listed in the Jeonseo of Hyeongjo. When Queen Sindeok died in 1394 (Taejo 3), he guarded the tomb for three years and became a true admirer of Munhabu. After Taejong ascended the throne, he resigned from the government post in 1402 (Taejong 2) and welcomed Taejo, who went to Hamheung with the monk Seol-oh.
▶ Anseong
The pen name of Anseong is Seolcheon (雪川) or Cheongok (泉谷). He was born in 1352 (King Gongmin 1). Because of his pure character, he served as a resident judge in the late Goryeo Dynasty and was promoted to Cheongbaekri in 1393 (the 2nd year of King Taejo). He died in 1421 (Sejong 3), leaving a will to his descendants not to erect monuments. His posthumous name is Duke Sagan (思簡公).
▶ Lee So-yeon
Soyeon (蘇沿) was born in 1390 (the 2nd year of King Gongyang) with the family pen name Administration (杏亭). He served as the Superintendent of Noseonghyeon (魯城縣監).
▶ Sosanbok
Sosanbok was born in 1556 (11th year of King Myeongjong) in Mando-ri, Deokgwa-myeon, Namwon. Yi Hang (李恒)'s teachings led him to excel in his studies.
He had a clear mind and mastered the Five Classics of the Librarian and the Hundred Books of Disciples, and was particularly well versed in astronomy and mountain learning. He passed the Jinsa-si in 1591 (Seonjo 24), and when the Imjin War broke out the following year, he acted as a servant officer to Gojae (高才) General Kim Cheon-il, and also traveled to and from the Uiju Haengjae Office. He participated in the Battle of Jiksan, but returned from illness, and later suffered the death of his parents.
When he heard the news that General Kim Cheon-il had died in Jinju, he lamented that he could not die with him, so he cut ties with the world and built a house in Hyang-ri, Mando-ri, Deokgwa-myeon, and named the plaque ‘Munryu-jeong’. He spent his later years hanging out with the scholars of the time, Min Yeo-ju, Oh Jeong-gil, Kim Seon, Lee Jeom, Ahn Chang-guk, Choi Haeng, Yang Myeong-won, and Ahn Geuk-chung.
▶ Lee Dang
Lee Dang (李棠) is a descendant of Lee Seo (李舒), a jubyeok, and his pen name is Jugam (竹庵). He passed the Saengwonsi and Jinsasi and was highly virtuous. During the Manchu War, he raised a righteous army, but when Ganghwa was established, he returned in sorrow.
